Places I visited in 2024 collection

“To travel is to live” - Hans Christian Andersen

During 2024 I was lucky enough to visit Devon, Cornwall and Kent. I took a lot of inspiration from these holidays and used this in my collection of woven products. I really wanted to focus on texture with these products, something you can add with different yarns and their fibres. Texture can often give a cosy feeling and that's how I wanted these products to come across.

The Whitstable fabric was created after a short trip there. Whitstable pink can really be reflected with the famous Wheelers Oyster Bar (see below). The pink and white textured houndstooth fabric, I created using boucle (yarn with a loop or curled ply) yarn gives a lovely, soft texture, which matches the softness of the overall colours and feel of the cotton.

The Fistral fabric was designed with orange and blue in mind, taking the inspiartion of the sea and the sun during many holidays to Fistral Beach in Cornwall. Using these colours with a boucle yarn again and a circular woven pattern. The handwoven fabric is extremely soft being woven with merino wool.

The Appledore fabric, another soft neutral fabric, came about after requests for neutral cosy colours to add for cushions. Using a wool and the gang wool to give soft textured bobbles, in amongst the woven fabric which is woven in lambswool.
